By: Joanna Schaffhausen

(Detective Annalisa Vega #1)

Detective Annalisa Vega grew up with cops. Her dad and several of her neighbors were cops, but that didn’t stop the fear from sinking in, while The Lovelorn Killer was hiding around every corner. The famous serial killer managed to strike close to home, killing Vega’s boyfriend’s mom. Now, as a fresh detective, a case sends chills down her spine. It seems The Lovelorn Killer is back. Will Annalisa be able to catch him or will she be his next victim?

Joanna Schaffhausen writes an incredible tension-filled thriller. Filled with twists and turns, readers will be on the edge of their seats. The suspense makes this book a very fast read. This book should be on the to read list for every mystery fan.

I really enjoyed this book. Yes, I did guess who the serial killer was within the first 50 pages, however, I wanted to continue the story and see how it was unveiled. The final two chapters left me very curious as to how book two will unfold. While I wait for the next book, I will be on the lookout for the author’s other series.
