One Thousand White Women

Set in 1875, May Dodd is among the group of women selected to marry the Cheyenne Indians as part of a program created by Grant to help assimilate Indians into a new way of life. May Dodd strikes the interest of the Chief and becomes one of his wives. May and her friends are soon thrusted into the Cheyenne tribes and find themselves forced to decide between two vastly different cultures.
