Today’s Friday!!!

Hi Everyone,

Here is a quick little post, before I bombard you with posts/reviews and some exciting news. (And yes, I apologize in advanced.)

First and foremost I hope everyone on the east coast is staying safe. Tropical Storm Andrea didn’t bring us a ton of rain, but we did have a lot of high winds. So for everyone else in her path, please stay cautious and remain safe.

Now today is Friday! (Where on earth did this week go to?) Since it is Friday, it means that the giveaway for week number 2 is almost over. Please make sure to leave a comment under the A Year in Review #2 post, before 11:59pm EDT tonight, for your chance to win a free eBook from The Light-Bearer Series courtesy of author Emily Guido!

Lastly, I have a quick question for all of you. I am thinking of making some changes to the Contact page and I thought I would ask for your opinions. When looking at a website, do you prefer sites that have contact forms or the ones that show the contact information? In this day and age, is it easier to fill out a form or to type in an email address?

That is all for now. Until later tonight: have a great evening, stay safe and go enter in Week #2’s giveaway, before it is too late!

Enjoy!

A Year in Review #2

Hi Everyone,

Well I have yet another milestone to celebrate. This post marks my 250th post!!! Wow! I am absolutely speechless. I appreciate all of your support and I am pleased to present the second Year in Review installment.

The Light-Bearer Series is a beautiful science-fiction series about accepting the differences in others and uniting as a team to fight evil. This poignant series is filled with morals that everyone should learn.

Here’s a look back:

Charmeine:
“Charmeine is a powerful and exciting tale of acceptance and love. Opposites need each other to survive and the battle to accept that may destroy everything. A paranormal twist with religious undertones allow for a modernization to the classic tale of two destined lovers. Guido will sure to be turning heads and making readers all over this world rally behind the love between Tabbruis and Charmeine.”

Mactus:
“In this second chapter of The Light-Bearer Series, Guido continues the emotional story of Tabbruis and Charmeine. Two angels destined to be together in a world desperate to tear them apart. As the family begins to train for the battle against the Elder Council, new truths will be revealed that will solidify the reader’s love for this series.”

Accendo:
“Fans of the series will be taken on a heart-wrenching journey throughout the book that will leave them all speechless at the end. Guido has created a fascinating world filled with examples of compassion versus judgment, trust versus fears and faith versus doubt. Readers will be impatiently tapping their fingers as they wait for the arrival of the fourth book.”

Seditiuos:
“Readers will enjoy the fact that Seditious focuses on the story of each of the family members, instead of just Charmeine and Tabbruis. Each of the characters become more relatable as they show their strengths and weakness. Unity, love, trust and faith are the values that are represented in each page of this book.”

Ransom:
“Emily Guido has done it again with this fifth installment from her Light-Bearer series. Her main couple, Charmeine and Tabbruis, is a bit of a modern, sci-fi Romeo and Juliet. These two are so in love that it radiates off of the ever-growing family and yet they seem to have their love tested with each new book.”

Not only does author Emily Guido write this magically enchanting tale, but she has also been very generous in donating some amazing prizes. From now until June 7, 2013 @ 11:59pm EDT, leave a comment below and you will be entered to win a free ecopy of your choice of one of these books! Ransom

The Light-Bearer Series #5. By: Emily Guido. Format: eBook. Read: January 2013.

Charmeine and Tabbruis are in Disney World with their family, enjoying a day at the happiest place in the world. During this day, Percival meets the girl from his dreams and it is up to Charmeine, Tabbruis, Shane, Sandra, Dmitri and Percival to convince his mother, Hera, that he is ready to fall in love. Little does this family know how special this girl, Carly, is and how painful a past she has lived. As Charmeine and Shane get to know Carly, they realize this girl has a bit more in common with them. Enter a whirlwind of adoption papers and happiness, as Carly becomes a part of the family and everyone heads back to Romania. Unfortunately for Charmeine and Tabbruis, there seems to be a pattern of bad luck that follows them and this time it comes in the form of Lord Cromwell himself. As he opens war on the family, blood is shed and everyone’s life, including Baby Hunter’s, is in jeopardy. Will the family survive? Is there some greater truth out there that will forever split Charmeine and Tabbruis? Only time will tell for this family.

Emily Guido has done it again with this fifth installment from her Light-Bearer series. Her main couple, Charmeine and Tabbruis, are a bit of a modern, sci-fi Romeo and Juliet. These two are so in love that it radiates off of the ever-growing family and yet they seem to have their love tested with each new book. The faith in God, love, unity and acceptance are still the themes in this latest book. Guido has created the most accepting and loving character in Charmeine, along with a cast of opposites that all learn to love and accept one another. Guido’s hints toward what is to come in the next book, will leave readers waiting impatiently.

I have had the honor to read this series from the beginning and can’t say enough, how much I wish the world could learn from the characters in this book. Imagine what the world would be like, if we spent our days accepting each others’ differences, instead of pointing out each of the flaws. Judgment is a harsh word, yet acceptance is more powerful a term. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for the family that lives in Castle Charmeine.

Enjoy!

Seditious

The Light Bearer Series #4. By: Emily Guido. Format: eBook. Read: January 2013.

Charmeine and Tabbruis have survived the battle with the Elder Council and are expecting their new baby. Unfortunately for these two, they do not have long to enjoy the peace and happiness with their family. One night as the intruder alarm sounds, the majority of the family go out and meet with a group of Blood-Hunters that bring news of a conflict in Athens. But even worse than that, is they come with a warning that Lord Cromwell has escaped. During this gathering Charmeine, Percival and Athena are brutally attacked by a Blood-Hunter woman named Bathsheba. Soon Charmeine finds out that Bathsheba and Tabbruis have history together and he sets aside all of his priorities to care for Bathsheba. Will Charmeine learn the truth behind their history, or is this end for Tabbruis and Charmeine.

Emily Guido has written the perfect soap opera love story for Charmeine and Tabbruis. Each time these two find their way back to each other, another obstacle is thrown in their path that not only threatens their happiness but also the lives of their family. Each book in this series is better than the one before, as is the writing. Readers will enjoy the fact that Seditious focuses on the story of each of the family members, instead of just Charmeine and Tabbruis. Each of the characters become more relatable as they show their strengths and weakness. Unity, love, trust and faith are the values that are represented in each page of this book. Readers will be on the edge of their seat as they await to learn the outcome in the next book.

I have truly enjoyed reading this Light-Bearer series by Emily Guido. Seditious is by far my favorite and has left me with high hopes for the next book. Guido has a talent of making these unrealistic characters have human flaws, which readers will understand and relate too. Each of the conflicts provides yet another opportunity to trust in love, or run in fear. This is a powerful story and a wonderful series. Have you read the series yet? Which minor character is your favorite? I am torn between Athena or Hameal.

Enjoy!

Accendo

The Light-Bearer Series. By: Emily Guido. Format: eBook. Read: November 2012.

Charmeine and Tabbruis are two angels made by God for each other and now that they have been reunited on Earth they must combine forces to save it. Charmeine and Tabbruis know that they must fight the Elder Council in order to save Blood-Hunters, Light-Bearers and Humans, but can they save their family too? As the past is remembered and the future revealed, will their love survive? Lies, fears and a breach of trust could come between them, which could mean they would lose each other along with their family.

Charmeine is a stong heroine with a very unique, rough past, yet she has found the love of her existence and she has a caring family. However in the third installment of The Light-Bearer Series, Charmeine’s inner fears are shown as she struggles with her role in the prophecy. These fears remind the readers of her past and they give her a more relatable charm. Fans of the series will be taken on a heart-wrenching journey throughout the book that will leave them all speechless at the end. Guido has created a fascinating world filled with examples of compassion versus judgment, trust versus fears and faith versus doubt. Readers will be impatiently tapping their fingers as they wait for the arrival of the fourth book.

Each of these three books starts where the previous one left off so the readers do not miss a single detail. Each new book strengthens in terms of writing and fluidity, and all of them combine to tell a very compelling story of “human” nature. The best part of this story is the subtle lessons it teaches about acceptance, love and compassion. I feared that in writing my reviews for each book, I would duplicate details or phrases, but this story had a sub-plot inside of the original plot that it allowed for more possibilities. I have enjoyed reading this series and I can’t wait to join Charmeine and Tabbruis on their next adventure, as I feel like I am a member of their family. So tell me, have you read this series yet? If so, which would you rather be: a Blood-Hunter, a Light-Bearer or a Flame-Thrower?

Enjoy!

Mactus

The Light-Bearer Series #2. By: Emily Guido. Format: eBook. Read: October 2012.

Mactus starts exactly where Charmeine left off. Tabbruis and Charmeine are slowly realizing their pasts through their dreams, while working to pull together their family. As the family grows, dark and deadly threats become real and destinies will be fulfilled. Will Charmeine accept her new future, or will she sacrifice herself in order to save her family?

In this second chapter of The Light-Bearer Series, Guido continues the emotional story of Tabbruis and Charmeine. Two angels destined to be together in a world desperate to tear them apart. As the family begins to train for the battle against the Elder Council, new truths will be revealed that will solidify the reader’s love for this series. There are some minor grammar issues, but overall the tale of good and evil combining as one is breathtaking. The ending alone will have readers rushing to buy the third book.

These books tell a story of two long-lost loves, but the meaning behind this tale is powerful. The world would be a brighter place, if everyone could learn acceptance. Fans of Charmeine will not be disappointed by Mactus. I know I am anxiously waiting to read the third book. Have your read either of the first two books? If so, which character do you relate to most?

Enjoy!
