How are you? I hope you are having a lovely holiday season. A dear friend gave me a copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which I look forward to reading in the new year. What book(s) did you receive this year?
As you know, the website developed an issue on November 8th, and sadly things are still not 100% correct. I know the weekly newsletter did not get received by most of you, and I am still working with support on this matter, as well as a few other things. My sincerest apologies to you all.
Due to the newsletter not going out, I have held off on posting reviews, in hopes that things would be 100% fixed. Have no fear, I still plan on ending 2016. There will be 98 reviews posted in the next three days! Hopefully everything will be corrected in the new year.
So for tonight, tell me what you are looking forward to in 2017.
The Eyes Have It
By: Julie Allan
(A Lowcountry Home Novel #1)
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Long has recently been informed by her husband that he is moving on, and she also learned the news about her beloved Uncle’s passing. Lizzie packs up her dogs and moves back home to McClellanville, South Carolina, to soak up the healing vibes of the low country. With the help of her Aunt, and old friends, Lizzie realizes all that she has been missing in life and what she truly wants for her future. As Lizzie makes peace with her present, will she allow her past pain to control her chance at happiness?
The past few weeks have been brutal, health wise. I was too weak to read at the beginning, and there have been a lot of naps during the day, which is not like me. I did finally manage to watch the four new episodes of the Gilmore Girls… and let’s just say that I am still processing my feelings.
The present: This weekend I was able to get back in the flow of reading. Plus, I have managed to complete all emails and I finally have empty inboxes. YAY! Since, the new Gilmore Girls episodes only contained information about 1 single book… I have added it to the challenge page.
Well now, here’s the fun and exciting news. Yes, several news items. So hold on tight:
- Over the course of the final weeks of this year, I will be posting 100 book reviews. Yes, my friends, you read that right! 100 Book Reviews over the next 20 days. We are going to end 2016, with a BANG! I hope you all enjoy. 🙂 Continue reading

A wildfire out of control…
His twin brother is dead and the only way National Intelligence officer, Mitch Holden, is going to make it through the holidays is by staying focused on his latest SCVC Taskforce investigation—catching a homegrown terrorist with a penchant for arson. The terrorist has started a wildfire eating up thousands of acres of forest and putting dozens of people in danger. When Mitch is pulled off that assignment to play bodyguard to a sexy forensic psychologist who sees past all his defenses, he ends up in the middle of a personal wildfire that’s as out of control as the one burning around the two of them.
A killer on the loose…
The trial that should have made her career cost Dr. Emma Collins everything—her home, her future, the baby that was growing inside her after she testified against famous actor Chris Goodsman, debunking his insanity defense and sending him to prison for murder. Rebuilding her life in the aftermath, Emma now rescues horses, dogs, and juvenile delinquents, and there’s no way she’s heading to a safe house because Chris Goodsman has escaped. She refuses to let anyone terrorize her or destroy her life again. But when a smart-talking, irresistible federal agent shows up insisting he has to protect her, she realizes her new bodyguard needs a bit of therapy. Good thing taking in lost causes happens to be her specialty.
Two people filled with grief may get burned…
Trapped at the ranch by the wildfire, Mitch and Emma explore a searing attraction, but soon discover they’re not alone. A killer has joined them—one who will do anything to get revenge and isn’t afraid to take out anyone who gets in his way.

Today has been cold, dreary and rainy, aka the perfect winter day for reading. (A rarity in the South.) The boys and I stayed cuddled under the blanket for the majority of the day. I read Deadly Attraction by Misty Evans. Tomorrow morning, my review will be live and there will be a giveaway that you will want to see! Tonight, I am finishing The Eyes Have It by Julie Allan and The Mother’s Promise by Sally Hepworth.

The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb
By: Melanie Benjamin
Mercy Lavinia Warren Bump, known as Vinnie, was born with dwarfism. She grew to be two feet, eight inches tall, but she never let her size stop her from living life to the fullest. Vinnie did so well in school, she became a school teacher, but deep down she craved more. Through life’s ups and downs, she finally teamed up with P. T. Barnum. The two became close friends and he introduced her to Tom Thumb, one of his other performers.
Today started out on a nice, positive note. I was able to get some housework completed, before turning on my computer. As I went to my site, to start sharing reviews, everything went downhill. My site was down for several hours as maintenance occurred, trying to fix a few hosting errors. After everything was fixed, or so I thought, I breathed some fresh air, by going and voting. When I got home, I even voted on the semifinals in the Goodreads awards. Now, I am back online and ready to start sharing reviews…
One problem, though…
It seems a few hundred of my followers been misplaced in the hubbub of today. Now I am working on correcting this, as well as a few minor other things. Hopefully soon, all the kinks will be worked out and everything will be back on track.
Thanks for your patience.
I cannot believe we are nearing the end of the month! Pure craziness! On Sunday, the boys and I celebrated Mom’s birthday and yesterday, I had a fun time with the Sasee Facebook Book Club.
Today, I am online and making a few changes. Be on the lookout, as things will appear different on the site soon. I even have a few plans in place for 2017! 🙂
Also, more reviews are headed your way.
In the meantime, tell me what you have been reading this week?
The last two days have been insane at home. I haven’t been online as much as I wanted, nor have I read as much either. Sunday, I read one whole book and last night, I started The Magician’s Lie by Greer Macallister. I am looking forward to curling up with my boys tonight and hopefully finishing this book. I will be back on Friday with more reviews.
So tell me, what have you been reading?
