September 11th

Hi Everyone,

Today is September 11th… a date that we all hold close in our hearts and minds. A date that we will never forget.

16 years ago, the world was changed, as terrorists attacked the United States of America. What I will always remember from that tragic day, is how we all banded together and helped one another.

9 years ago, I was hospitalized with ITP. Throughout all the years of testing, and still unanswered questions, I have learned that life happens. No matter what you plan, life has a way of changing things. You learn to continue to move forward each day.

Today, Hurricane Irma’s winds are wreaking havoc outside. Places that are still rebuilding from Hurricane Matthew are being destroyed again. Memories of Hurricane Hugo from 28 years ago, are flashing in people’s minds. Again, what I try to focus on is the fact that everyone is coming together to help one another. Whether it is from Hurricane Harvey or Irma, we are all trying to keep each other safe. (I also learned that the high school where I graduated from was vandalized. Things were stolen and windows were destroyed. However, let’s remain focused on the positive side of things.)

So book wise, what does this day mean? I have read a few adult fiction novels that reflect on the meaning of September 11th, but this year, this year I chose to read a children’s book.

Oh Autumn, Where Art Thou?

Hi Everyone,

Well it feels like it has been forever since I have been on here and it has been. Seems my wretched summer just keeps going, but hopefully there is an end in sight. Yesterday and today the weather has been nice down here, my family is even considering opening up the windows to let a little fresh air in. Today is the first time in ten days that I have been on the computer and I have read (and am responding to) several marvelous emails.

So where have I been? Well, two Fridays ago, my dog had a 15 minute seizure, in which he stopped breathing during the first few seconds. He has since been placed on phenobarbital and a new routine of scheduled morning meds and scheduled nightly meds has taken place. Between the stress of everything happening on the home front, that little flu bug that I thought I had in the beginning of this month, turned into a wicked case of chicken pox last week, and I am just now recovering.(This is seriously the first day that I have been on my computer, and yes, I was having withdrawals.) Of course this all played out, while my mind was recalling the events of September 11, 2001 and September 11, 2008, the day in which I was diagnosed with ITP. Needless to say, it has been an emotional roller coaster this past week.

What can you expect with the cooler air and the changing of the seasons? Well, you can expect more reviews, more author appearances, etc! Starting today, after I finish responding to all of the emails, I will post my latest review, then the new segment starts. Each week, there will be author interviews posted here on Wednesdays or Saturdays. Readers can expect to find a variety of authors from every genre, some from The List, some not. Authors, if you are interested in being interviewed, contact me, so I can add you to the schedule. I hope you all will enjoy!

Thank you all again for your continued support. I appreciate it and I hope you will celebrate a new season with me, here on Ariesgrl Book Reviews.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!
