What book will you reading on this spooky holiday? Every few years, I get the urge to read a scary novel. This year, I have been craving Misery by Stephen King. However, I will have to read it next year. So today, I am filling my reading hours with two holiday books: Pilgrims by Mary Pope Osborne and A Christmas Wish by Joseph Pittman. I figure we can all “be” whomever we want to be today, so why not read whatever we want to read, as well!
Happy Halloween to all!
(The A. W. E. Crew series)
(The Love Brothers Series)
By: Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey
Lieutenant Jacob Madden has thrived in the military, earning his place in the 8th Special Warfare Logistics Group. He is currently on a week long leave, in hopes of seeing his mother. Normally, this would make anyone happy, however, Jacob left his family and the Amish religion behind, seven years ago. After reading a concerning letter from his sister, he is compelled to go home, no matter how much dread lies in his heart. What he doesn’t expect to find is his first love, Abigail, working in a bar outside of the settlement. Abigail was forced into the English world and while terrified of the unknown, she was lucky to find the Love family, who gave her a job, as well as their friendship. Knowing in her heart that she would never see her friends and family again, her whole world is flipped upside down, when Jacob walks into the bar. Will one week be long enough to heal both of their hearts? Will they be able to make peace with their past, in order to save their future?
It is a holiday weekend, which means an extra day of reading!
Do you like to read books in theme with the holiday? Do you savor a favorite title during your break or pick up a wish list book to enjoy?
As for me, I like to seize the opportunity to read a wish list book. If I can match it to the holiday, that’s an added bonus for me, but it isn’t necessary. I just like to think of a long, weekend as the ideal time to try and shorten the length of the ever growing wish list!!! 😉
What type of books do you read on a long weekend?
