What are you Reading?

Hi Everyone,

Today has been cold, dreary and rainy, aka the perfect winter day for reading. (A rarity in the South.) The boys and I stayed cuddled under the blanket for the majority of the day. I read Deadly Attraction by Misty Evans. Tomorrow morning, my review will be live and there will be a giveaway that you will want to see! Tonight, I am finishing The Eyes Have It by Julie Allan and The Mother’s Promise by Sally Hepworth.

What are you reading?

Enjoy!

By: Mary Alice Monroe

Book 5 in the Lowcountry Summer Series/Christmas Themed Book

Taylor McClellan is grateful for his wife, Harper, his home and his family. During this special Christmas, he reflects on his first Christmas at home, after being injured in Afghanistan. Five years ago, Taylor was released from the hospital, yet he knew his brain was still not well. His mother, Jenny, was thrilled to have her son home and wanted to have the best Christmas ever. Miller, Taylor’s younger brother, only wanted a puppy for Christmas. Life had changed drastically for each of the McClellan family members, but hopefully a Christmas miracle will bring them all together again.

Hurricane Matthew

Hi Everyone,

I am sure you may have heard by now that there is a hurricane named Matthew gracing the US coastline, with his presence. My boys and I want everyone to know that our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this horrific storm. Hurricane Matthew has caused a lot damage in places and we hope that everyone remains safe and sound through the duration of this storm.

My boys, Mom and I have been prepping all week for Hurricane Matthew’s arrival. The boys and I have our stacks of books ready and waiting, plus my tablet is charged to read as many ebooks as possible, before the battery runs out. I have two book lights for reading, so we are set! 🙂 I will be back online as soon as possible, to let you know how many books we managed to conquer! Reviews will soon follow. I have several pending for next week. 🙂

We hope everyone stays safe and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by Matthew.

Stay safe and Happy Reading!

Enjoy!

What are You Reading?

Hi Everyone,

I had a rough health week, so sadly, I didn’t read as much as I had planned. Therefore today, I will be finishing up two books and reading Astonish Me by Maggie Shipstead. The weather outside is quite lovely, but my boys decided we should read in bed, today. They impatiently waited, while I gathered my things. I hope everyone affected by Hermine is safe and dry.

What are you reading this weekend?

Enjoy!

What are you Reading?

Hi Everyone,

It has been a few weeks since I have been able to read for a whole day. Now that Jagger is strong enough to get in the bed, the boys and I have mapped out a fantastic Read-a-thon and Cuddle-thon day. We have been up for hours and have already finished a contemporary romance book. (Love Literary Style by Karin Gillespie.) We will be conquering these four books next:

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J. K. Rowling and Jack Thorns (a play)
The Curse of Beauty by James Bone (a biography)
Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich (historical fiction)
The Vanishing Year by Kate Moretti (contemporary thriller)

Yes, I believe in balance when it comes to reading and I am covering several genres today! Yay! Even my boys are so excited that it was difficult to pose for a picture, but we managed.

What are you Reading?

Hi Everyone,

Sundays are meant for reading! Today, I have been catching up on a couple of different books that I had partially read, including last month’s Read with Ariesgrl book. Jagger was very needy today. He wanted one-on-one attention and play time, so my reading was spotty today.

Tell me, what great books you have read this weekend!

Enjoy!

National Book Lover’s Day!

Hi Everyone,

How have you been celebrating National Book Lover’s Day? I spent some precious time cuddling with my Jagger, this morning. I thought today would be the ideal day to start a romance book about books! (Love Literary Style by Karin Gillespie.) Tonight, as I have tried to write this post, he has been wanting my full attention, Ozzy has moved my computer away from me and the internet has crashed. So I am calling it an early night, tonight, my fellow book lovers.

Let me know how you celebrated the day!

Enjoy!

Night Owl???

Hi Everyone,

As you may have noticed, I haven’t been around much this week. One of my pups, Jagger, has been very sick. Thursday night, we received news of cancer. He survived cancer once before, but this is a different type. We have been keeping him comfortable at home, over the past few days. This means, I have quickly fallen back into my night owl routine. I have been up all night, several nights in a row, making sure he is okay. Last night, I had flashbacks of when I was up late all night, when my grandfather wasn’t sleeping. During those nights, I was on this website a lot, working in between conversations, pausing when I heard noises, etc. Tonight, I am back online working, while listening for any noise, hoping my beloved boy will get a good night’s rest. Amazing how many years have passed, and yet it seems like only yesterday. I haven’t been able to read this week, but I have written several reviews that I will be posting soon.

Today, is also July 31st… Harry Potter and J. K. Rowling’s birthday!!! How did you all celebrate? Have you read the new book, yet? *NO SPOILERS, PLEASE!* My darling boys and I listened to the Harry Potter movies on television today, while enjoying a positive family day together. Soon, I will read the new book and I am so excited. There is something about these stories that feels like home and is very comforting, during difficult times.

Since I didn’t read a book today, I am relying on all of you, to tell me your Sunday reads! Leave a comment letting me know what story swept you away, today.

Enjoy!
