Alternate Connection

(Countermeasure Series #3) By: Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey.

Trevor and Cassandra Bauer have experienced some ups and downs while searching for clues towards Trevor’s missing parents. Instead of experiencing a relaxing holiday season with friends, they have been called to assist the United States Government. Working to help rescue kidnapped Embassy workers, means reuniting with someone from their past. Enter, CIA Agent Nathan Nelson, a man who is not well-liked in the Bauer household. Nate has been battling his own demons this holiday season, and now he is forced to work with the Special Ops Team and the Bauers. Nathan will do anything he can to rescue the woman from his past and make amends. Rachael Moore was married to Nathan’s best friend. Now she is on a personal mission to learn more about his death. In the middle of an assignment in the Middle East, she and her co-workers are kidnapped. Will they get to her in time? And if they do, will she even want their help?
This is the third installment in the Countermeasure Series. The story’s emotional ebbs and flows can rival any ocean in the world. The authors clearly did amazing research into not only the history of the Middle East, but also the sentiments behind their traditions. Readers will be forced to travel to this area world and live with bated breath as they watch the events unfold. High action and high suspense, will keep readers guessing until the very end. Readers should start with the first novel in the series and work their way to this latest chapter. Alternate Connection is a heart-stopping tale that will leave readers anxiously waiting for the next book to be released.

A Quote to Begin Your Day…

“It gets worse,” he chuckled. “Wait until she says, ‘I do.’ Savor the moment, old man. There’s nothing like it.”
~Trevor B. to Stephan C., Christmas Wish

Christmas Wish

Countermeasure Bytes of Life #7

Stephan and Jessica are about to celebrate their first Christmas together as husband and wife. However, their happiness is put to the test as they face their inner fears, in preparation for their bundle of joy. Will they be able to open up to each other, or will their first holiday season also be their last?

Readers are first introduced to the romantic possibilities between Stephan and Jessica in To Russia with Love. In Christmas Wish, readers will fall in love with this couple, as they connect with the newlyweds on a deeper level. Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey have managed to turn 70-ish pages into an emotional, realistic journey that will satisfy the reader’s need to know more about this secondary couple. Christmas Wish is like a present wrapped with a bow for fans of the Countermeasure Series.

Lost to Rapture

Countermeasure Bytes of Life #6. By: Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey. Format: eBook. Read: August 2013.

Trevor and Cassandra have been married for one year and Trevor has decided to take them to his hometown of Sligo, to celebrate. Haunted by the memories of his parents, he hopes to make new memories with Cassie that will over-power the questions racing in his mind.

Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey have written a majestic short story in their Bytes of Life series. The rich details will overwhelm readers’ sense and make the feel as though they are in the depths of Ireland’s splendid scenery. Fans of this series will rejoice as they are reunited with the overpowering chemistry between Trevor and Cassandra. Trevor’s inner turmoil over the mystery of his parents will wreck havoc on readers’ emotions. Another must read from this fantastic writing duo.

The Countermeasure series is like the proverbial buried treasure hidden in the world of literature. This series spans multiple genres with exquisite details, sweltering romance and riveting suspense. I have loved each new adventure and highly recommend this series to those looking to lose themselves in an excellent series.

Blindsided

Countermeasure: Bytes of Life #5. By Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey. Format: eBook. Read: April 2013.

This is the fifth installment in the Bytes of Life portion of the Countermeasure Series. This short story is told from the points-of-view of Nathan Nelson and Nikol Petrovna. This is their story that took place in the morning, while everyone was in Russia. Even though the story only covers a few short hours of time, it dives deeper into the Nathan’s past and Nikol’s future.

Written with the same excellent style, that fans have thoroughly enjoyed, Blindsided takes a slight detour away from the hectic romantic suspense filled plot that consumes Trevor’s and Cassie’s lives. Nathan is a character that fans will either love-to-hate or hate-to-love and this is the story where his inner turmoil begins to shine through. Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey are an incredible writing duo. They keep the readers craving more. This is yet another must-read in an overall captivating series.

Out of all of the short stories, this was probably my least favorite, only because Nathan hasn’t fully redeemed himself in my eyes. However, I am excited and hopeful that Nikol returns. I see a lot of potential for this always-kicking-butt character. So if you have read this series, please feel free to share your thoughts about Nathan with me.

Enjoy!

To Russia With Love

Countermeasure Series #2. By: Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey. Format: eBook. Read: April 2013.

Trevor Bauer’s best friend, George Miller, may have just found some vital information that could help Trevor find his missing parents. Cassandra Bauer is missing her best friend, Jessica Forrester, and is determined to help Trevor find answers to his parents disappearance. Jessica jumps at the chance to work with Cassie again, so she immediately packs up everything and moves to Ireland. As Trevor and Cassie work a dangerous case in Russia, Jessica has time to explore her relationship with Stephen Connelan. Trevor risks everything, including his life and his love, in this latest chapter in the Countermeasure Series.

Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey make a powerful writing duo. Their writing style flows with ease as though written by one author yet again. This time the action is amplified and the story is balanced with steamy love scenes from the secondary characters. Though there are a few grammar errors in this book, the chemistry and passion between the characters and the adrenaline-packed scenes are superb. Readers’ hearts will race as they turn each page. Fans of this series will be left desperately waiting for the next novel. Romantic suspense readers of a mature age need to place this series on their ‘Must-Read’ lists.

I absolutely love this series and cannot say enough good things about it. These books have everything that most movies strive for: action, suspense, intrigue and romance. I am looking forward to reading the next short story. Have you read this series? If so, which couple is your favorite: Trevor and Cassie ~or~ Jessica and Stephan?
