A Quote to Begin the Day…

“If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.”
~Oscar Wilde

Continuing with the theme from yesterday, I have re-read To Kill a Mockingbird numerous times. I love re-reading books. I have an entire shelf dedicated to books that I have re-read so much that I can pick up a book and immediately go to my favorite passages, for a quick pick-me-up. However, I have met several people that wish to only read a book once and then move on.

What about all of you…do you enjoy re-reading books? If so, which stories top your list?

Enjoy!

A Quote to Begin the Day…

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”

~Harper Lee

Did you hear the news??? Author Harper Lee will be publishing a new book this summer. It seems this book was her original idea for a story, but due to suggestions she changed the POV and age of the main characters to create one of my absolute favorite books: To Kill a Mockingbird! This story will about an adult woman named Scout who travels to her hometown to visit her father. I am so excited!!!!!!! I can’t wait to see this “new” book. I feel like even though I have read To Kill a Mockingbird a dozen times, I should re-read it again this summer.

How many of you are as excited as I am about this news? Who was your favorite character from To Kill a Mockingbird?

Enjoy!

Game Day or Reading???

Hi Everyone,

You may have heard… Today is Super Bowl Sunday. And thanks to the past couple of years, there’s a few Bowls happening today. You have the classic football option: the Super Bowl, or the adorable: Puppy Bowl, or the latest: Kitten Bowl. So will you be watching one or all of these Bowls today?

Or will you be throwing your own type of Bowl… a Reading Bowl? Chocked full of amazing adventures and the only halftime break you take is when you need to pick up the next book, since you finished the first!

What’s your game plan for the Big, First February Sunday? (Let me know in the comments below.)
As for me, since my football teams did not make it to Arizona today, I will be watching the always adorable Puppy Bowl. (Really, there are no losers in that game! Have you seen the view from the Water Cam???!!!) Then, this evening I shall be curled up with my boys participating in a mini-read-a-thon.

Either way you spend the day, I hope it is a great one!

Enjoy!

What are you Reading?

Hi Everyone,

Yes, I know, I normally declare Sunday as my Reading Day. However, my back is aching and it is raining, so instead of sitting at the computer all day, I will be reading in a comfortable chair today.

How do you all like to read? Do you have one perfect spot for ideal reading? As for me, I read anywhere, except the car, but we do have this one cozy chair that just suits all comfortable reading positions!

I have my three books stacked up that I hope to conquer today next to my water. So, I am ready to spend my Friday traveling the world through reading.

How are you all spending your Friday? Is it raining or snowing where you live?

Enjoy!

What are you reading?

Hi Everyone,

It was another crazy weather week, warm to cold to warm again. Even today, rainy this morning, warm yet the sun and clouds can’t agree on how light it should be. With the weather being what it is, and the fact that my NFL teams are out of the playoffs, the boys and I have decided to curl up, while I catch up on reading.

What are you doing on this Sunday afternoon? Is the weather nice where you are? Or are you staying indoors and escaping through a majestic book?

Enjoy!

Personal Shelves Review

The beginning of October, we had to bury my grandfather. The days leading up to the trip, my mind was scattered and I couldn’t focus on anything. I tried reading different books from The List, but my focus wasn’t there. I tried to watch a movie, but my dvd player was broken. I was stuck… I couldn’t get past my own mind, so I went scrolling through my library on my Nook. I stumbled across this book that I had downloaded for free. It had the promise of a sweet, short romance, so I gave it a shot. Here are my thoughts:

Personal Shelves Review

It can be difficult to read a book from an app on my computer, so several weeks ago, when there were fireworks and I needed my Nook to play Ozzy’s calming music at night, I was wide awake and decided to read an ebook that was on my Nook. My friend Dana, who you may remember designed my amazing logo, recommended the author Kim Harrison to me. A while back, I downloaded the first book in the series, while it was on sale. Here are my thoughts:

Reading Day!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Did you enjoy the extra hour of sleep last night? My boys didn’t believe in sleeping during that bonus hour, however, thanks to the crisp air they are both curled up snoring right now. With that being said and after the busy week that we have had, I will be joining them in a few moments. My plans for the day will be reading and snuggling up with them all day!!!

I have three books that I will be finishing today. What are your plans for the day? Are you experiencing some unexpected chilly weather too? Whatever your plans may be, I hope you have a great day!

Enjoy!

A Halloween Treat

Hi Everyone,

Happy Halloween!!! I am super excited this morning. I get to attend a luncheon today, where author Diane Chamberlain will be speaking. I can’t wait to hear what she has to say about her latest book. Early last year, I had the pleasure of reading Necessary Lies and that story has stayed close to my heart and mind all this time. (You can read my review of it, here.) I am very grateful for this special opportuntiy.

Have a fabulous Friday everyone! And I hope your Halloween is filled with treats!

Enjoy!

A Quick Update…

Hi Everyone,

During the first week of this month, we were out of town. We went to Va to honor my Grandfather’s life and bury him next to my Grandmother. We spent quality time with friends, blessed that they helped us celebrate my grandparents’ lives. I am forever grateful to our friends.

Now that I am back, there will be numerous reviews posted this week as I get caught up with everything. You may notice a few changes as well, which I hope you will enjoy.

In the meantime, I want to hear how all of you are spending your fine Sunday evening?

I will be finishing a book from The List and the the review will appear later this week.

I wish you all a happy and colorful October!

Enjoy!
