What are you Reading?

Hi Everyone,

Tis Sunday, which means I am curled up with my boys reading all day! I just finished A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks and Meena Mouse’s Perfect Raspberry by Trilby Plants. Now, I am about to dive back into The Angel with Burnt Wings by Scarlet Jensen.

What are you all reading on this first Sunday of the football season? (Or are you spending your afternoon, cheering on your favorite team?)
Either way, I hope you all are having a beautiful day!

Enjoy!

What are you Reading?

Good Morning Everyone,

It seems Sundays have become the best day for me to read. So I am grateful to announce that today is once again a Reading Day for me! I will be finishing The Aviator’s Wife by Melanie Benjamin and starting The Angel with Burnt Wings by Scarlett Jensen. As of this minute, I have three reviews pending and will share them with you all starting tomorrow. (Hopefully, I will be able to add another review after today!)

In the meantime, I want to know what you are reading? Has school started back for your family? If it has, what will the students be reading this year?

Hope you all have a spectacular Sunday!

Enjoy!

Good Morning Everyone,

Today, the boys and I are feeling a bit under the weather, therefore I have declared today a ‘cuddle, rest and read’ day. I will be finishing Justice Comes After Death by Werner Hoppe and starting The Cards of Life and Death by Colleen Gleason.

How are you spending your Sunday? Are you reading anything exciting?

Have a wonderful day!

Enjoy!

Personal Shelves Review

Hi Everyone,

As you may have noticed, I struggled for quite a bit trying to find my passion for reading and reviewing, after my grandfather passed. (It feels amazing to be back in the world of literature.) While trying to find my stride again, I chose a random book from my nook and started reading it. I just needed something to grasp my attention and light that spark within me again. Thankfully, I picked a fascinating book that helped me find my way and it inspired a new concept for the blog. From time to time, I shall post a “Personal Shelves” review. These will be books that I have had for some time, or that I downloaded for free at one time or another. Now, please don’t expect a lot of these, because my main priority is getting caught up on The List, so these won’t occur often. I hope you enjoy them. Below, you will find my thoughts on a sci-fi, YA book.

Enjoy!

Crewel

By: Gennifer Albin

#1 in trilogy

Adelice Lewys has the gift to weave, but is desperately hiding her talent thanks to the warnings from her parents. Trying to stay hidden from the Guild is difficult, but it becomes impossible when Adelice lets slip her gift during a testing ceremony. Ripped from her family and thrown into training, Adelice knows she has to find a way to escape, but this means she must learn to trust someone on the inside.

I am not normally a fan of sci-fi books, but this is a fun, fast read. I was immediately caught up in Adelice’s struggles. There were very few grammatical errors, while the descriptive details overwhelmed the senses and made it feel as though the world of Arras was displayed before my eyes. I am looking forward to continuing Adelice’s adventures in the next two books.

Quick Update

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well this evening. Personally, life here as been unraveling, but that seems to be a consistent theme here. However, what has changed is the fact that I have gotten back into the rhythm and escape that is reading. :) The hard part is getting caught up with computer time… I currently have seven reviews in varying stages, which need to be typed up and posted. As my family rests right now, my goal is to get as many as I can finalized and shared with all of you. (That is until the fireworks start and/or my one dog starts showing signs of pain again. But don’t fret, I will make sure that they all appear this week!) So, my apologies for the onslaught of reviews, but I have to say it feels good to be back!!!

In the meantime, I want to know what all of you are reading on this fine Tuesday night.

Enjoy!

Quick Update

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I have gone through and updated all the pages, except for the two list pages. They will be updated tonight, after I finish posting my latest reviews. I am also pleased to announce that I have found the urge to read again and have made progress on the books that I was reading prior to my grandfather’s passing.  Thank you all again for your continued support. I greatly appreciate all of you.

Hope you all are having a terrific Tuesday.

Enjoy!

Blog Tours-Author Appearances

Hi Everyone,

How are all of you doing? As for life around here, my family and I are still trying to adjust. Hard to believe that on Thursday, he will be gone for a month. Life is completely upside down for all of us. Anyways, I digress…

I am currently working on my rough drafts for the next several reviews, which you all will get to see later this week. :) But in the meantime, my calendar showed that I had a blog tour scheduled for today (and one in July, too.) I hope you all will enjoy these two tours. Blog tours have been a great way to introduce you all to new authors. My normal process for agreeing to these tours is that I have either read the author’s previous work, the author was listed on The List, or one of my blogging friends have recommended the author. Starting in August, I will be changing this process to only include authors that I have previously read, in order to be able to give you all my personal opinions. :) I hope this will allow for more author interviews and or guest posts, as well as continue representing a broad spectrum of genres for you all to enjoy!

So while I go finish editing my reviews, why don’t you all tell me what you are reading this week? Are any of you waiting for a particular book to be released this month?

Enjoy!
~Ariesgrl

P.S. Thank you all again for your continued support. I truly appreciate all of you.

In Loving Memory

Hi Everyone,

On April 17th, my Grandfather was admitted to the local hospital… After a few weeks worth of extremely difficult times, my Grandfather finally found peace on May 5th. Though my family and I are grateful that he is no longer suffering or being tortured by the horrific disease known as Alzheimer’s, we still miss him dearly. We are back to taking each day as it comes, as we all, including the dogs, try to adjust to life here at home without him.

As you all know, I have been my grandfather’s caregiver for the past several years. I started this website as a way to stay connected to the outside world, while living in the Alzheimer’s realm. I cannot express in words how quiet my home is now, nor how much my heart aches each minute of every day. I am grateful for the love and support from my family and friends, as I know the healing process will take time.

I also appreciate all of your support and understanding over the years, especially while I have been absent over this past month. I send you all my sincerest apologies for my absence. Over the course of the next few weeks, I will be working hard to get caught up on emails and blog posts. I will also be updating the pages on here, especially the About Me page, as I start this new chapter in life.  I have always trusted in the healing powers of books and I look forward to continuing to share my experiences and reviews with all of you.

Hugs to you all. Thank you again for your continued support.

Sincerely,
~Ariesgrl
