My Sister’s Books Review #91

Flick

By: Lynn Floyd Wright

Flick #1

Flick is a puppy who was hit by a train, when a young boy finds him trapped in the tracks. It is up to the boy to convince the adults that Flick’s life is worth saving.

The pictures are impressive! The short chapters are perfect for children who are beginning to read longer books, and there are some larger words that will encourage learning new vocabulary words. It is a sensitive and sad subject matter, but the happy ending provides a great set-up for the series.
