In case you didn’t see yesterday’s post, today marks the beginning of a feature here on the site. Each month, I will be picking a book that has been on my dream list for years, and I will read a chapter or two each night. Then, once a week, I will post my thoughts, without spoilers. If you are interested in a title, I invite you to read along with me and we can discuss the book each week.
August’s selection is: Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. There are 63 chapters, which means 2 chapters a night.
I have wanted to read this book for as long as I can remember. (I haven’t seen the movie either.) My fascination with this genre started when I was a young child and saw North and South on television. I can’t wait to finally meet Scarlett and the rest of the cast tonight.
I came up with this idea, because I have really enjoyed the Forgotten Book Challenges that I have been doing, and thought this would be a nice way to include some of the paperbacks that I have been dreaming of reading.
What about you? Have you read Gone with the Wind before or has it held a permanent spot on your ‘One Day’ list? If you are going to read along with me, what are you most looking forward to discovering?
