Good Morning Everyone,
A couple of week’s ago, we discussed favorite genres of books. Today, let’s discuss length. Do you enjoy short stories, novellas, full-length novels or those epic 800+ page journeys?
I’ll admit, some short stories leave me feeling like something was missing or that it was rushed. However, when written correctly, short stories can provide a nice “vacation break” in between books. (Am I the only one that has a difficult time switching stories and characters, sometimes?) I feel the same way about novellas, too.
I prefer the average length novel. Those massive books can be daunting, when you haven’t read the first page. However, when I was younger and I would have the summer off, I would set out to conquer one throughout those few weeks. I think in this day and age, not too many people have time to devote to reading the extra long tales.
What about you? How do you like your books, super short or super long?
