Bytes of Life Anthology

Countermeasure: Bytes of Life Volume 1. By: Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey. Format: eBook. Read: April 2013.

This anthology contains three short stories that take place in between the first full length novel, Countermeasure and the second, To Russia with Love. These short stories pickup right after Trevor and Cassandra’s wedding and progress through their first six months as newlyweds. This anthology provides a nice inside view of Trevor and Cassandra’s new life in Ireland and how they are happily married, yet they are both still haunted by the past and worried for their future. Fans of Countermeasure will want to read this anthology. These stories are not full of suspense, but they are full of romantic trysts. Recommended for mature audiences that have read Countermeasure first.

This series is amazing! I cannot wait to begin reading the next novel. This series as a whole, so far, has it all: suspense, action, intrigue and romance. Definitely a must-read series.

Have you read the Countermeasure series yet? If so, who is your favorite character?

Enjoy!

Hey, Nicole! I’ve read up to Ecstasy by the Sea. It’s hard for me to pick my favorite because they are so likeable. I love Trevor and Cassie but Jessica is cool, too.

      Hi Ren,

Thanks for stopping by the site. I have recently started To Russia with Love and I still can’t decide between Trevor and Cassie. It is a very hard choice. However I am enjoying the insight into Jessica’s mind.

      Have a great night!

Read all of the books and I am obsessed with the series!!!! It would be tough for me to pick a favorite character. I guess I will go with Trevor because he is so honest and open love for Cassie. Plus he has a wicked sarcastic sense of humor that is similar to mine. Not to mention smart is sexy.

      Hi Candy,

You have made an excellent argument for Trevor and after my computer issues today, I must say he is taking the lead for my favorite character. For now! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have read all of the books and waiting patiently for Alternate Connection! I’m not sure I can pick a favorite character. Each one adds their own bit of life to the stories and when combined makes for a great books. I love Trevor and Cassie…how strong and passionate they are yet show their weakness to each other.

    • Ariesgrl says:

      Hi Ches,

Thanks for stopping by the blog. I have to agree with you. I absolutely love the fact that both characters are equally strong and the fact that they show some weakness, makes them both more relatable.

      Have a wonderful night!

Hi Nicole! I’ve read all the books and I’m bouncing on the balls of my feet for Alternate Connection! Like my fellow readers, I am hard-pressed to name a favourite character. Chris and Cecilia make each of them so full of life, they’re all like my best friends!

    • Ariesgrl says:

      Hi Danille,

Chris and Cecilia make an excellent writing team. There style flows so easily. The characters are very relatable, too!

  5. Mayas Sanders says:

Wow Candy not Daniel in this response. Lol

  6. Mayas Sanders says:

I have read all the books and as we say in our group we are Countermaniacs. As for favorite character I would have to say Trevor because the journey is about his closure and needing that to move on and give his wife 100% . That is my opinion but that is what I get out of the wonderful saga. My character obsession would be Stephan though.

    • Ariesgrl says:

      Hi Mayas,

Thanks for stopping by the site. I do love the stories within the story in this series. The mystery behind Trevor’s parents seems to heighten every character’s actions. As for Stephen, I still don’t know too much about him, yet. I just started reading To Russia with Love and am slowly learning about Stephen’s thoughts.

      Have a good night!

@ Mayas, lol!!!! Well Chris and Cecilia haven’t really written anything about Daniel. He’ll be in Alternate Connection. Besides I was trying to sound intelligent in my answer. Smoking hot sexy man is sort of a shallow excuse to like a character

  8. Having read all the books, it’s kinda of hard to pick my favorite character, but if I really had to, it would be Trevor. Yeah, he is a geek, but he’s sexy, has a great sense of humor, cares deeply for his beautiful wife Cassandra. I am more of a paranormal romance reader, but I have to admit, I got hooked on their story since reading Countermeasure. Looking forward to the next one Alternate Connection. I hope someday Chris and Cecilia will think about writing a paranormal romance book, which I know it would be great, because these two write so well together, you can’t help but not love the characters and yes there are a couple I disliked. Sorry I guess I got carried away here. Yes Trevor would be my favorite.

      Hi Harriet,

I mentioned earlier how great a team Chris and Cecilia are, the work reads like one author wrote it. This series appeals to all sorts of genres with the way the suspense and romance are blended together. As for characters, there’s one so far that I don’t like, so I understand.

Thanks for stopping by the site.

  9. Hey NIcole…I have read all the books and well of course I LOVE Trevor and Cassie…but I have a major love/hate relationship with Nathan Nelson. Right now I am in love with him. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Ariesgrl says:

      Hi Kimberly,

Ok, I have to say I disagree with you. Right now all I have is a hate/despise relationship with Nathan Nelson. The fact that you have a love/hate relationship, makes me hope that at some point he shows some redeeming qualities. Guess I will just have to read to find out. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Becky Condit says:

I’ve read all of them, too, and my favorite characters remain off-scene almost entirely: Trevor’s parents. What happened to them? It’s a wonderful mystery being solved by (yay!) geeks.

    • Ariesgrl says:

      Hi Becky,

Thanks for stopping by. I love that part of the storyline too. It is always in the background, everything connects to it, yet it is still a mystery!

      Have a wonderful day!
