Happy Wednesday!

Hi Everyone,

It has been a hot and humid Wednesday for us. I hope everyone is staying cool. I am currently reading, therefore I do not have a review ready yet. Recently I have been asked the same question: Where else do you post your reviews?. Before starting this blog, I started writing short practice reviews on my Goodreads site. Then I revamped a few of them for this blog. Now I focus primarily on writing informative, well-written reviews on this site. Once my reviews are posted on here, I then post them to my Goodreads page. Here lately I have been playing catch-up and trying to post my reviews on the Barnes and Noble webpage. Unfortunately at this time I am unable to post any reviews on Amazon.

I truly believe that we are all connected in this world, and we should help each other obtain our dreams. So allow me to ask all of you a couple of questions. As a reader, where do you search for book reviews? As an author, what sites do you use to help promote your books? I love my blog because it has allowed me to “meet” many talented people, and I want to be able to help promote their works, through my reviews. Have a great night everyone, and thanks again for following.

Enjoy!

As an author I use my website, facebook, twitter, Etsy and GoodReads to do my promoting at the moment. Eventually I would like to get on amazon as well, but right now it doesn’t make financial sense.

As a reader I tend to go for word of mouth. This includes reviews on blogs etc, (but rarely includes reviews on sites such as GoodReads) because I tend to take the advice of people I know/who enjoy similar books before I take the advice of people I don’t know – I feel it’s more relevant to my tastes!

      Hello,

Thanks for your comment. One of the reasons I started this blog in hopes to help spread the word about new authors. I agree that friends who share the same tastes are the ones that suggest the best books.

      Thanks again,

A blog is a great way to do that! It really lets you connect to a lot of people, but there’s also a community feel to it – it’s like getting book advice from a friend who’s also a professional 🙂 (Well, sometimes, there’s a lot of non-pros out there too I guess :P)

I look forward to reading some more of your reviews!

I couldn’t agree more with you. I have had the pleasure of “meeting” some amazing authors through my blog. I love the friendly, professional vibe that I think my blog conveys. Thanks for your comment and the compliment. I hope you enjoy my reviews.
          Have good night!

I am glad to hear that yoy are trying to get get your reviews in other places. I read reviews on GoodsReads, as well as Barnes and Noble.

      Hi Dana,

Thanks for your response. I have started posting my reviews on both of those websites. I have been thinking about possibly going to the local bookstore that carries indie books, and seeing if they would take a look at my reviews.

      Thanks again,
