Finding Justus

By: Amanda Bretz. Format: eBook. Read: August 2012.

Finding Justus is the debut romance novel from Amanda Bretz. The setting is a cruise ship and the steamy bonus is the latin dance classes, combined they set up a sexy, much-needed vacation for Justus Kendall. Justus recently found her fiancé, Alex, cheating on her, so now her honeymoon cruise is a vacation with her best friend Krystal. First day of sun tanning her eyes lock with the hottest man Justus has ever seen. Enter Miguel Amores the latin dance instructor. The only question: Can Justus handle a fling that Krystal insists she desperately needs?

Amanda Betz has set-up a steamy storyline between Justus and Miguel. For the majority of readers this relationship is a fantasy, but it is between two characters that are easily relatable to readers. Justus is filled with insecurities and self-doubt, thanks to her past, and Miguel works several jobs to save for his dream. There were a few grammar problems, and the ending was a bit abrupt, but overall this is an enjoyable story. Excellent setting, and steamy chemistry make this book an easy choice for fans of romance.

When I read a romance story, I prefer a total fantasy, an escape from my reality. However I want to be able to connect with the female lead, and be able to “see” some of my characteristics. Do you enjoy the romance genre? If so, do you prefer a storyline completely opposite of your reality? Or will you read it all, as long as the chemistry exists?

As always…
Enjoy!
