Dead to the World

By Charlaine Harris. Format: Paperback. Read: February 2012.

Dead to the World is the fourth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, and so far the best. Harris has created a world in which all the supernatural troubles in the universe land on her main character’s doorstep. This series is highly addictive for adult fans of vampire novels. Each book in the series should be read in order, but Harris provides enough details concerning setting and characters, that each book can be read as a stand alone novel. However, in providing enough details to produce a stand alone novel, there were comments and events in this story that contradicted what had occured in the first three books.
Overall I would recommend this book to mature fans of the supernatural. Just be warned, if you are a reader that picks up on tiny, flawed details throughout a story, this one has several. Poor Sookie has so much to deal with, but she also has several perks to enjoy. If you love adult vampire books, then read this book so you can enjoy those perks, too! Afterwords you can let me know what comment or scene stuck with you the most. Enjoy! ~Ariesgrl
